How to submit a guest post

As already stated, a writer contacting us without the notice of writing a guest post shows some seriousness. On that note, if you already pitched us before seeing this page, it means that you’re willing to follow the process.

Original posts

It’s expected that posts should be original without any form of plagiarism. Brainstorm blog post ideas and come up with an original post.

If you can do a little bit of research on the blog post you’re going to write, that will be great. After which, you let your thoughts, ideas, and words shine through.

What to write about

You’re allowed to write about your experiences.

But considering the mission of this site, any blog post should fall mainly within these categories: career, finance, health, mental, personal development, or social. It should provide value to the readers; it should be inspiring.

These kinds of posts should do:

  • Listicles
  • How-to guides/articles
  • Explainers (e.g videos, why x matters, what is x
  • Opinion based articles
  • Expert round of.

Pitch on posts

You should be writing to share your knowledge, opinion, ideas, advice, and insights with the audience.

However, if you’re writing about an experience involving a client, you would want to disclose the relationship as well.

Post length

While it might be your choice on the length of the article, longer posts tend to provide more value to the audience.

As such, the ideal length of the article should be between 800 – 1, 300 words. If you want to go in-depth, you could aim for at least 1, 800 – 2, 300. But don’t be too hard on yourself. Focus more on value and the ideal least post length.

Paragraph

To make the article easier to read, paragraph length should be as short as possible. Shorter sentences would help a lot in achieving this. Also, aim to contain one idea in one paragraph while making it brief. It’s not going to be easy, but it’s worth it.

SEO practices

To enable your great post to reach a wider audience, especially on search engines, good white-hat SEO practice is essential.

Here’s what to do:

  • Optimize the post title for search engines and social media. Make it enticing too
  • Don’t forget your keyword
  • Optimize images for SEO
  • Optimize the excerpt
  • Remember to optimize the URL.

Links in article

If you’re going to include links in the article, it should be helpful to users and follow search engines’ guidelines.

Although we constantly review all the links, you could assist by taking note of links to include rel=”nofollow. The text around the contextual links should be descriptive.

Formatting

As you write the article, it’s important to make it appear neat and easy on the eyes of the readers. To accomplish this, try the following:

  • Use lots of white spaces
  • Endeavor to use H2 heading for subheadings
  • Use H3 heading for headings within subheadings.

Images

Should in case you got your image from other sources, the image should have an attribute.

Use JPEG and JPG image formats with a width size of 640 and a height size of 360. If you can’t seem to come up with this size, an image with an aspect ratio of 16:9 should do.
